Napa County Jail Roster Records
Napa County publishes official jail custody information through CJNet. The system is a public reports hub with separate links for current in-custody records, bookings during the past week, releases during the past week, California Values Act reporting, and warrants. The jail reports are free public grids. They do not behave like a commercial search box, and the research did not find a dedicated public last-name field on the current in-custody, booking, or release reports.
The roster agency is also local to Napa. The Napa County Department of Corrections, not the Sheriff's Office, operates the adult jail and has jurisdiction over the facility. Sheriff Oscar Ortiz's office still matters for warrants, records services, dispatch, and public-records routing. A complete Napa County inmate records search may use both offices, plus the court and state corrections system when charges or custody move beyond the county jail.

Because the hub splits current custody from recent booking and release records, users should choose the report that matches the custody question before assuming a person is not in the system.
Use Napa County Inmate Reports
The fastest way to find someone believed to be in custody now is the Jail In Custody Report. It is the closest Napa County equivalent to a jail roster. The report shows a timestamp, record count, and sortable grid data. If a person was just booked or recently released, the current report may not be enough, so the Booking Report and Release Report are part of the same search path.

- Use the browser find function or sort visible columns because the report does not provide a public name-search box.
- Compare Person Information, Booking Date/Time, Arrest Information, Booking Type, and Charges & Bail.
- Open the Jail Booking Report if the person may have been booked within the past week.
- Open the Jail Release Report if a recent release is possible.
- Call Napa County Department of Corrections at 707-253-4401 or use public-records channels if the online reports do not answer the question.
The current in-custody report observed during research showed 251 records as of 05/31/2026 01:46 PM. That count is useful for the search date, but each report should be read by its own timestamp.

Napa County Inmate Profile Fields
CJNet records appear as grid entries rather than separate profile pages. The public data is still detailed enough to confirm many custody facts. It includes jail identifiers, person descriptors, timing fields, booking type, charges, and bail. It does not expose all operational records. The research did not find public mugshots, housing unit, cell, court date, medical notes, classification notes, property details, or attorney visit information in the public jail grid.

Napa County Records Not Shown
Some details stay outside the public roster. Housing unit and cell are internal jail data. Medical, mental-health, dental, classification, and safety records are not public roster fields. Court dates are court records, not jail roster fields. Booking photos were not visible in the public CJNet grid reviewed for the mugshot research. For photo-specific access, use the Napa County jail mugshots page and the county public-records route rather than assuming the roster has a photo gallery.
Formal charge status also belongs to the court case record. CJNet can show booking or arrest charges and a bail amount, but the District Attorney may file different charges, decline a case, or amend charges later. For filed charges and case status, use Napa Superior Court records after reviewing the custody entry.
Napa County Booking Process
Napa County does not publish a full public booking manual, but the research identifies the main steps. After arrest or court remand, a person is transported to Napa County Department of Corrections if local jail booking is used. Intake creates or updates identifiers such as PID and booking fields, records person information, captures arrest and booking timing when available, and connects charges and bail to the public report.
NCDC describes its functions as institutional care, treatment, rehabilitation, classification, diagnosis, intake screening, and sentencing-alternative programs. Medical, mental-health, and dental care are provided through an outside medical provider, and medical staff are available 24 hours a day. Public CJNet reports show the result of parts of that process, but not housing or clinical details.

Napa County Bail Records
CJNet's Charges & Bail field is often the first local place to check release information. It can show a bail amount or "No Bail" for listed occurrences. That entry is not the final word on release. Court orders, warrants, remands, holds, amended charges, or later hearings can change release conditions after the jail record is published.
The Napa County bail page says lists of vetted, licensed bail bond companies are available at all public entrances of the jail and that people may call the Department of Corrections at 707-253-4401. The page directs users to contact the bail bond company for further information. Exact jail-counter payment methods and after-hours posting rules were not located in official pages reviewed.

After locating someone in Napa County jail records, visitation depends on housing schedule and facility status. Napa County says each incarcerated person may receive two 30-minute visits per week. Napa County Inmate Mail
Routine mail for Napa County incarcerated persons does not go to the jail's street address. The county directs mail to a processing center in Seminole, Florida, and the address must include the incarcerated person's name and PID.
